Terms & Policies

Cancellation and Refunds:
If an order is cancelled for any reason, a refund may be available depending on how far along we are in the process. Refunds are given at the discretion of Bright Room Studio.
* If an order is cancelled before any work has been done, we will provide you with a full refund. Note that we try to begin work on projects quickly and work may start as soon as your order is received.
* If an order is cancelled after round 1 or 2 of proofing, we will provide a 50% refund.
* If an order is cancelled after the art is approved, we are unfortunately not able to provide a refund.

Returns:
Because each invitation is custom printed just for you, we are not able to accept returns.

Approvals:
Approval of art includes, but is not limited to, confirmation that colors, sizing, text, and content (including spelling and grammar) are all accurate.

Once a client approves a piece of art, Bright Room Studio is not responsible for any mistakes made or caught during the printing process. It is the client’s responsibility to proofread everything, particularly names, dates and addresses prior to approval, as well as print out art at 100% size at home (or request a print-out from Bright Room Studio) to see accurate sizing.

A Note on Timelines:

As much of the work we do is custom, and as each project is as unique as the couple for whom it is designed, it is extremely difficult to provide an absolute date of delivery.  Sometimes the perfect layout emerges in the first round of design, but sometimes it takes a little longer to for the design’s personality to emerge; that’s part of what makes each design so special.

While the length of each individual project varies greatly, we have found that most projects require at least three months to complete.  That estimate is based on the following assumptions:

  • The three month window begins when the client delivers wording/content and the design deposit, not on initial contact.

  • There will be approximately three rounds of revisions.  I do not charge for additional revisions, but they could push back the final delivery date

  • Bright Room Studio will turn around design changes as quickly as possible, typically in a week or less, depending on the complexity of the change requested

  • The client will submit feedback on the designs within 72 hours.  Again, any delay in receiving feedback may result in delays in the final delivery date.

  • Printing schedules reflect standard printing methods such as digital, letterpress or foil. More unique or unusual printing techniques may require longer timelines.

  • If addressing is required, a list of addresses will be provided within one week of approving the design for printing.

Any delays on the part of the client (longer turn-around times for feedback, information not provided in a timely manner, many rounds of changes, etc.) may result in delayed delivery dates or rush fees.

Bright Room Studio will make every effort to complete a project within three months.  Any projects that require a tighter turn around time are accepted on a case by case basis, and are subject to additional rush processing fees.

Shipping:
While Bright Room Studio always does its best to use trusted shipping partners, sometimes things that are out of our control happen once the packages leave our hands. If a package is lost or delayed due to the fault of the postal service, the cost of a re-print and new shipment will be shared 50/50 between the client and Bright Room Studio. If a package is lost or delayed due to the fault of the client (e.g., wrong address provided, address provided that can’t accept packages, etc.), and the client requests a reprint of the work, the client will be responsible for the cost of a re-print and new shipment. If a package is lost or delayed due to the fault of Bright Room Studio (e.g., mistyped address), Bright Room Studio will fully cover the cost of replacing it.

Sales Tax:

California residents are subject to an Oakland sales tax rate of 9.5% on all charges (design, printing, materials, etc.). Out of state clients are exempt from sales tax.

Ownership:
Bright Room Studio retains the right to reuse or repurpose any and all art designed by Bright Room Studio. Bright Room Studio retains the right to use any and all produced art in promotional materials, whether printed, online, or in materials used at trade shows. This includes both final approved pieces as well as art shown to the client as options but not selected.

Limitation of Liability:
Bright Room Studio will do everything in its power to deliver a final piece of art that each client loves. However, Bright Room Studio is not responsible for any incidental damages that may arise from either party’s failure to perform or deliver, regardless of whether the failure was due to delays or omissions from Bright Room Studio, the client, or a third party. Bright Room Studio's liability will be limited to the amount billed by Bright Room Studio for client's project.
